I received my Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art & Design. I studied at the beautiful campus in Savannah Georgia. I loved every minute of attending art school because there I was able to focus soley on my creative thoughts and projects. Learning the basics of the programs, for the most part, was on your time; SCAD professors center your education on the process of desiging and honing in on concepts, all the real skills needed to produce appropriate visually compelling products.
I am currently employed as a Visual Information Specialist at the U.S. Department of Energy. This position has allowed me to strengthen my design skills and software knowledge. The majority of the content I create appears on social media sites or is directly mailed to US citizens as markteting for surveys. My previous position was at the U.S. Geological Survey, where I created around one hundred exhibit designs that focused on environmental topics. Other design projects I created were reports, promotional materials, calendars, and signage.
It is my hope that you will also take a moment to peruse my fine art collection. Ever since I can remember I have been entertaining my mind by drawing, painting, and creating things with my hands. I guess I would have to consider myself lucky because I have turned my passion to draw and create into a career as a graphic designer. While I love to create graphic products for clients I always need to leave room to be completly free to create whatever I want. My favorite medium is pencil. More recently I have actively choosen to squash my inner doubts and paint. They don’t always turn out the way I planned or invsioned but, the process is exciting. Happy accidents are occuring!
